A static seal<\/b> does not move. It prevents leaks between two fixed parts. A dynamic seal or bellow<\/b> works in motion, on a cylinder rod, a rotating shaft or a slide. Leather is particularly effective on dynamic applications. Its natural flexibility allows it to absorb dimensional variations without losing its sealing properties.
