Emile Janique was founded in 1893 by Messrs Toillon and Janique in Reyrieux, in the Ain. Since that date, the manufacturing of leather seals and bellows has never been interrupted. Single piece or series production, we have navigated more than a century of industrial evolution while preserving leather as our material of choice. In 1993, Yann Fèvre took over the company and gave it new momentum, building on this unique expertise to meet the ever-higher demands of modern industry.
We are today the European leader in leather components for industry and we produce more than 250,000 parts per year for clients such as Renault, SNCF, Bombardier, Alstom, Michelin, EDF and Eurocopter.

Leather is not a material of the past. It is a technical material that we have been working with for more than 130 years and which has characteristics that modern polymers do not always replicate. Its natural flexibility, resistance to friction and ability to adapt to complex shapes and its longevity make it a relevant choice for many industrial applications. Where other materials require costly specific tooling, leather allows us to respond quickly without excessive investment for our clients.
Our leather seals and bellows are used in aeronautics, railway, automotive, agriculture and leather goods. Wherever precision, durability and adaptability matter.

It commits us to passing on this expertise and continuing to innovate so that it remains relevant to current demands.
We are also laureates of the Artinov competition, which rewards artisanal innovation in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region.

Does Emile Janique manufacture exclusively in leather?
No. Leather is our primary material, but we also work with elastomer, cork, NBR, EPDM, FKM and other materials according to your needs.
Can I order a single part or is there a minimum quantity?
We manufacture both single units and large series. No minimum quantity. If you need just one seal to repair an old machine, we will manufacture it.
